Currently Kidcare supports feeding by donating grants towards school dinners in five schools in Uganda and Kenya and one in Ghana. Many children in impoverished areas come to school without any provision for a meal during the day. Kidcare supports school lunches for children in very poor areas
Our main feeding project operated for the last 18 years in a township in Jouberton, Klerksdorp in South Africa. This after school project feeds children who come from really poor homes three times a week. For many children this is the only nutritious meal they would receive during the day. This program also kept the children safe, as many did not have adult or guardians at home to look after them after school.. On average around sixty children were fed each school week.
