Child Protection - Kidcare International Fully recognizes its responsibilities for child protection. Kidcare is a member of Churches Child Protection Advisory Service, (CCPAS) UK. Our Child protection policy relates to children under the age of 18, and also to those vulnerable adults (of any age) who are identified to the Kidcare volunteers, staff and co-ordinators both in the UK and abroad.

We take all reasonable steps within our power to ensure that all the children who benefit from Kidcare are not harmed in any way through contact with our organisation. To this end we adopt and submit to the relevant Child Protection laws of each nation we work in. We also subscribe to the United Nations convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) which sets out Global standards for the protection of children and which are relevant to our overseas missions organisation.

We are committed to following all other UK government and CCPAS guidelines of Child Protection and good working practice, including safe recruitment of workers. We work to a formal child protection policy which can be seen on request from contacting our offices.

All mission partners on the field who co-ordinate the work of Kidcare are men and women who are recognised in their communities as having an impeccable character and are seen as men and women of integrity. Most of them are church leaders, head of schools or community leaders. The schools abroad where Kidcare sponsored children attend are known locally to be good schools and the schools manage child protection issues. Children's homes Kidcare assists are known and/or supported by the local social services department.

In the UK, the executive director, The International Board of Trustees and key volunteers (who come into contact with children on a one to one basis) are men and women who have undergone selection processes that involve checks into their suitability to work with children and vulnerable people. All our trustees and key workers have had CRB checks (criminal records bureau)
